Note to waiter: it's great customer service to offer items as long as you follow with some sort of message that there is a charge for what you are offering - especially when the menu hasn't been opened yet and I just told you this was our first time eating here. If you're looking to pin a regional feel on Luigi's, it's Philly Italian. The food was outstanding, and the atmosphere was very East Coast. The service is excellent,  once we hit the door,  they know our routine when we eat here. There was a lot left, so next time they will share one.I got the Chicken Verona (chicken with mushrooms, jalapenos, and red bell peppers with a marsala alla panna sauce, which is a mix of alfredo & red sauce, with penne pasta. Worst take out ever. The chicken entree was good but nothing spectacular. I ordered a sampler which gives you lasagna, beef ravioli, and manicotti...never found any manicotti. Both were covered in the same watery jar marinara with very little attempt to spruce it up. Garlic & Oil, Marinara, Meatballs, Meat Sauce, Mushrooms, Sausage. This place is legit. We will definitely be back! The dish included mancotti, lasagna and a beef ravioli. The caesar salad had very little dressing on it, and when I did get a bite that was more than romaine, the flavor was very anchovy-heavy. We dipped the zucchini in it and spread it on the bread-- yum!The bolognese here is made with lots of cream but it's very tasty. Heads up: From now on, other Yelpers will be able to see how you voted. And right around the corner from where I live, so it's very accessible. Mama Mia's is one of the best Italian restaurants in the Portland area, IMHO. We got there pretty early and were the only ones there for about 30 minutes. It doesn't really matter though because we won't be back. At first it seems affordable but if you want to add a basic house salad add $2.50. Minor Personal Note: If you've got toddlers and babies--please, consider the rest of us that don't. I so wish I could give this a better rating. I was downtown searching for a place to eat during this crazy Pandemic.I wanted Italian food and happened to see their sign in the window was on. They have and extensive dessert menu. The two thumbs up for our visit... the rolls they bring out were great. At this point, I would  rather go to the Old Spaghetti Factory. I pulled over and called them and sure enough they're open! I wouldn't have expected something standard in other places to have a charge associated with it. TRY THEIR HAPPY HOUR!Holy shit... the best food I've had in a VERY long time. Still good though. My sister got the manicotti. They were just short of the "great" line. Pasta got 200 stars from me, perfectly al dente and wonderful seasoning. We have dined at Luigi's 4 or 5 times now and the food is always good. My husband likes the pasta sampler which is lasagna,  manicotti, and ravioli. Overall, it's a nice restaurant with good service and good food. Recommend the manicotti, garlic bread, and minestrone soup! Prices her are low for what you get. Except for the rolls apparently everything is an add on. No real flavor. Dined there for first time sat evening as we heard from family it was so good. For adults who want a traditional Italian meal (bread, pasta, salad) you are easily looking at $13+ per person minimum. Prices for everything is very reasonable, especially for families. If you are in the area, give Luigi's a try, great service, nice clean atmosphere and good food. They used to freshly grate cheese onto your plate, and now it's just the Kraft self-stable garbage on your table. Enough to feel satisfied but definitely won't have leftovers. Want to chime in. It was good...it wasn't a heavy cream...it was light and delicious and so flavorful. For the price, this is certainly a once a paycheck place for a couple wanting to share a meal together. I think I had the best dish of the bunch. The cocktails were creative and mixed well. I ordered the Brussels sprouts and they were fantastic. The cherry tomatoes were magnificent and the price was fair. I'm definitely coming back. I wanted it to be good! The creamy herb sauce was also lackluster. As a result, I have enjoyed many a delivered meal, starting way back when the main delivery service was Delivered Dish! The manicotti was burnt, and the bolognese had a very bland flavor profile. About $2-3 a plate too expensive. They have food orders to go only!
